SAFETYNET PILOT PROGRAM
Minnesota Emergency Disability Services (MEDS)
is proud to announce our new partnership with SafetyNet Tracking Systems
(SafetyNet) under a unique pilot program. SafetyNet is a Boston,
Massachusetts-based company that specializes in protection,
identification, and tracking solutions for people with cognitive
conditions. They are currently operational in 20 states including
Minnesota.
The overall goal of this pilot program is to
enhance the day-to-day shopping experience for those families who enjoy
outings with someone who copes with the challenges of wandering,
stemming from conditions such as Alzheimer’s, dementia, autism, and Down
syndrome, just to name a few.
It is our goal to train and equip major
retailers and venues to provide on-site tracking services for those
prone to wandering, which will enhance a family’s community involvement
experience, while offering greater accessibility through peace of mind,
and creating a greater quality of life for everyone!
Because seconds (moments) matter, it is our goal
to create partnerships with many of your calming community partners that
you may shop or visit every day. These partners may include Walmart,
Target, and many others, so please stay posted to this website for
official updates. It is not our goal to supersede or take over for
traditional public safety services that provide tracking services,
however, to initiate searches sooner, thereby lowering pressure and
anxiety on everyone, including our Police, Fire, and EMS personnel that
serve us every day.
Again, MEDS is proud of this new partnership
which is being created to enhance the community that we live in. For
more information on this exciting project, please contact the MEDS
